Meet ms. hodge!
I am from Morganton, North Carolina. This will be my first year teaching at St. Stephens! I graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2013, where I majored in English Education and minored in Spanish. I was fortunate enough to be among one of the last classes of North Carolina Teaching Fellows.
When I'm not busy grading papers, I enjoy running, hiking, and spending time with my friends and family. I love being outside, especially in the mountains. The picture to the left is of me on a trip to Switzerland. I chose the above pictures of the forest because it reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from Thoreau's Walden, "I went into the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life and see if I could not learn what I had to teach, and not, when I came time to die, discover that I had not lived."
I'm very excited to begin my first year of teaching and I look forward to seeing each of you in my class!
